Medical Clinics

medical clinic

Typical clinics consist of 1-4 U.S Doctors &/or Dentists, as well as 1-5 nurses, dental hygienists, E.M.T痴, and other lay volunteers. Trips are led by the One Mission medical director, Dr. George Stavros, MD. We provide primary medical care as well as dentistry. It is typical for each provider to see up to 80 patients during a clinic.

The medicine we practice is pretty routine, where we treat anyone that comes in, primarily for colds, ulcers, hypertension, diabetes, URIs, GU infection, GI disorders, skin disease, and occasionally female problems and some birth control.

We don't have facilities yet for lab or x ray, except for blood sugar glucometers so we do what we can under those circumstances.

We pray with each patient before seeing them.

THE MEDICAL CLINICS PROVE TO BE BOTH IMPACTFUL AND ENJOYABLE. THE CARE YOU PROVIDE IN A SHORT WEEKEND MAY BE THE ONLY MEDICAL ATTENTION THEY WILL EVER RECEIVE.

Arrive at the One Mission base camp before 9pm. Most medical personnel work in their offices Friday so we recommend eating on the way down in Gila Bend or Ajo. Once you have arrived, you will be checked in by our staff, then simply relax and rest until Saturday.
